What do we love to do?

Hi all!  I've been quite busy these past days and the quantity of publications in the blog has decreased, but here I am again!

Yesterday the spanish football league finished and therefore, some teams stay one more year in the first division, some go to european competitions next year and of course, some of them go into the abyss of the silver category.

Happiness and pain, two curious feelings both present in players' and coaches' hearts these days.

I can't imagine these football coaches and players spending all their lives working hard, training everyday, studying strategies, watching matches and so on without a complete devotion to the sports' world.

So, why there's some people that work on what they love and so many people working on what they hate. Why these people complain continously because they dislike their jobs? Why they don't choose any other job?

For sure, we all are good in some fields due to our education and experience.
I've just read in  Expansión.com a really interesting article. One of those articles that make us think twice about our role in the game of life. What do we love to do?
Maybe the answer to this question will lead us to establish a new path in our life and try to work in the same field we're good at, and make our passions our way of life.

A buyer's choice

Crisis, time to change, time to evolve, time to buy a new car. Yep! That's what my father's doing right now, visiting all the car dealers in Alicante region in order to find a suitable car.

And now comes the choice: diesel or gasoline?

Diesel engines costs around 1200 € more than their equivalent in gasoline, so the question is, how many kilometers should I do till I cover the investment?

If you want to know it: it's around 40.000 km. So diesel is the best choice if you want to save money on fuel. On the other hand, repairs are more expensive on diesel engines than in gasoline ones. But anyway, you'll be saving much more money on fuel than on repairs, God willing.

Checkmate

1963, Bobby Fischer Vs. Reuben Fine.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to share the afternoon and evening with some mates in the living room of one of us. We boiled water and prepared English Tea and started to play chess.

It's been a long time ago since the last time but fortunately I still remember how to move the pieces.
Somewhen during the game, Pablo stood up and talked the way the great masters talk to their pupils, knowing their superiority but with a deep feeling to teach all of us.

There, standing in the middle of the living room with the chessboard in from of him, he started the game.

"Fischer opened with some common movements and started to sacrifice pawns... quite unusual... but Fischer was preparing for a checkmate  just a few movements later."

If you like chess you can follow the 17-movements game.

I am a Champion

Yesterday I had the opportunity to conversate during 45 minutes with a Shell recruiter testing me for a position in Shell.

I used the following videos to motivate myself just before the interview. Motivation is sometimes use as a gag. But when you're facing one of those important moments in life, when your nerves are upon you and you feel small and alone, motivation is needed.

Firstly, the speech given by Will Smith to his son in "Pursuit of happiness" (which is also the title of this blog - Coincidence?)

and secondly, a motivational speech based on "I am a Champion" poem.

Is this the world we created?

Today is one of these days when you really think about what we're doing with the world. A friend of mine from Nicaragua told me in an inspirational conversation how he sold everything in his home country in order to get some money to emigrate to Europe.

I used to think there's no future in Spain and I feel myself as part of this lost generation, that with a cheap flight, flown to other countries looking for a better future. I identify myself with the profile of the new emigrant but after the talk I realise that there are places in the world where life is even more difficult.

Maybe it's because I was born with silver spoon in hand and I've never had real problems, but I don't think I'm strong enough to face the daily life in a place like Nicaragua. People from there, face a world dominated by corruption and streets full of thiefs and murderers. These people are brave enough to leave everything they know and move to another country with nothing in their hands but their nuts and willingness to survive and grow.

They have this courage we have not, and so, they are going to be the real leaders for the next years, just because of their strong character and determination and, in most of cases, because they also have an universitary degree under their arms.

We have to learn form them, from their passion and strenght. And remember that we are emigrants too.

Here there's a video from Queen to make you think a little bit:

[Lyrics:]

Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need

Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created

You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by

Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated
Right to the bone?
If there's a God in the sky looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that He created?

What is Pursuit of hapiness - Pursuit of Goals?

We are lions, we are tigers. This is our time.

Are you prepared to do what you have to do? I do.

I am like all of you! I am you. I know that our countries are getting worst and worst. I know that all of you are fed up with political class. Me too.
I know that all o you are fed up with hearing always the same dilapidating sentence: Thank you for applying, but we regret...

I was angry because I was living in a country with no future. Where people with ambition and ideas, with a degree and language knowledge have to survive with 1.000€ a month. I was fed up of that situation.

So I decided to emigrate.
I'm one of those who have decided that is better to go away and face the daily challenges of a globalized world instead of coach potatoes in home's sofa, regreting the good days and complaining without doing nothing.

My aim now, and therefore the aim of this blog, is to document my steps in Germany, my successes and failures throughout my journey as a young emigrant who tries to go on and grow as a professional and do something important in life.

This blog is about my attempt to become better day by day and achieve my professional goals, my ambitions.

In order to do that, I will post here all the information that I read everyday, including some interesting videos and interviews that help me to face my everyday journey. I hope it would help you too.

And today, as all the great days in life, I've decided that we need a motivational speech, so using youtube, I'll bring you a speech to motivate you. Enjoy it!

Let's show the world how great we are
